Founder of The New Shiloh Altar, God’s New Living Tabernacle for the Holy Children of Israel, Saint Mary Iyabo McOliver, has urged Nigerians to embrace spiritual consciousness, ethical living and responsible citizenship as part of efforts to promote moral rebirth and peaceful coexistence in society.
McOliver made the call during a one-day sensitization lecture series and press briefing held in Abuja, where participants discussed issues bordering on faith, morality, civic responsibility and spiritual awareness in contemporary society.
Speaking on the theme, “You Are the Last of Your Kind, Save Your Soul from the Abyss of the Underworld,” she stressed the need for personal discipline, adherence to scriptural teachings and conscious decision-making in daily life.
According to her, many of the social challenges affecting individuals and families require deeper reflection on moral values, responsible worship practices and stronger commitment to faith-based principles.
She advised Nigerians to be mindful of the environments they expose themselves and their children to, noting that parents and guardians must play active roles in instilling sound ethical and spiritual values in young people.
McOliver also urged citizens to shun negative social influences and remain committed to values that encourage peace, unity and respect for humanity.
The cleric further encouraged religious adherents to prioritise personal study of scriptures, spiritual understanding and peaceful worship, while discouraging actions capable of creating fear, confusion or division within communities.
She explained that the sensitization programme was organised to promote public enlightenment, spiritual reflection and constructive discussions on moral consciousness and responsible living.
As part of the event, awards of recognition were presented to notable religious and traditional personalities for their contributions to faith, leadership and societal development.
Among those honoured was Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Church, who received an award for his impact in Christian ministry and humanitarian outreach.
McOliver was also recognised for her efforts in promoting spiritual awareness, public enlightenment and moral advocacy through the activities of The New Shiloh Altar.
The programme equally acknowledged the traditional institution of Prince Ogun Oven, Oba Ewuare The Great, for contributions to cultural preservation, peace and leadership in society.
Participants at the event were encouraged to uphold integrity, maintain peaceful relationships and contribute positively to national development through lawful and responsible conduct.
The event featured opening prayers, lectures, scriptural reflections and interactive sessions aimed at promoting ethical conduct, self-awareness and stronger commitment to societal values.
Organisers disclosed that the sensitization lecture series would continue in phases as part of broader efforts to promote spiritual education, moral orientation and peaceful coexistence across communities.
