The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dismantled multiple drug dens across the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, arresting 132 suspects and recovering 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances in a two-week coordinated operation.
The raids, carried out between April 11 and 25, 2026, were led by the Agency’s Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) in collaboration with the FCT Strategic Command following sustained intelligence gathering and surveillance across identified hotspots.
Affected areas include Torabora Hills, Gwarinpa, Durumi, Banex, Dei-Dei, Kubwa, Apo, Wuse Zone 4, Garki Area 10, Jabi, and the Suleja axis, among others. The operations targeted entrenched drug joints linked to trafficking and substance abuse within the capital.
Recovered substances include cannabis (skunk), diazepam, tramadol, exol, mogadon, cocaine, rohypnol, methamphetamine, ecstasy, and codeine syrup.
Despite resistance encountered in some locations such as Durumi Area 1 and Suleja market axis, operatives overpowered the suspects, successfully disrupting distribution networks without recording any casualties.
Briefing the NDLEA leadership, DOGI Director, DCGN Ahmed Sule Ningi, commended the officers for their professionalism and coordination, urging sustained pressure on drug syndicates.
Chairman/Chief Executive of the Agency, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), praised the operatives and directed that the operational model be replicated in other high-risk cities to intensify the fight against drug trafficking nationwide.
