Ned Nwoko Camp Rejects Delta North Senatorial Primary Results

Supporters of Senator Ned Nwoko have rejected the outcome of the Delta North Senatorial primary election held on May 18, 2026, describing the exercise as flawed and lacking credibility.

Addressing journalists at a press conference, the group alleged that the primary was marred by manipulation, intimidation, vote buying, violence, and irregularities.

They claimed that Senator Ned Nwoko secured about 123,000 votes, while former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, polled about 5,000 votes.

According to the group, evidence gathered from the 98 wards in the senatorial district, including videos, agents’ reports, and ward-level records, supports their claims.

The group further alleged that the electoral panel members were influenced by powerful interests and that some officials connected to the state government allegedly compromised the process.

They also claimed that there was no proper accreditation, transparent voting, honest counting, or genuine collation during the exercise, insisting that results were allegedly prepared before voting commenced.

The supporters accused some party officials of vote buying, intimidation, and inducement of delegates, saying the declared outcome does not reflect the will of party members.

They called for a review of the process, cancellation of what they described as manipulated results, and accountability for those allegedly involved in undermining the exercise.

The group maintained that Senator Ned Nwoko remains the preferred choice of the people of Anioma.
