President Tinubu Condemns Plateau, Kaduna Attacks, Orders Security Crackdown

President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent killings and abductions in Plateau and Kaduna states, labeling the attacks as “barbaric” and pledging that those responsible will face justice.

In a statement on Tuesday, the president denounced the assault by gunmen in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, and the attack in Kahir village, Kagarko LGA, Kaduna State, which included the killing and abduction of wedding guests. Tinubu described the assailants as “heartless cowards” targeting vulnerable communities under cover of darkness and warned that such acts will not go unpunished.

He directed security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and to prevent the spread of misinformation that could escalate tensions. The president also cautioned the media against prematurely framing the violence as religiously motivated.

Tinubu called on security forces to adopt proactive measures using early warning intelligence and ordered the immediate rescue of the remaining abductees from Kahir village. He urged the public to cooperate with security directives, including evacuation and relocation where necessary.

The president commended Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for their response efforts, expressed condolences to the victims’ families, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

He further revealed that the federal government is acquiring advanced equipment to enhance security agencies’ capacity to track and combat criminal elements in real time.
