The Police Service Commission (PSC) and Lagos Business School have initiated plans for collaboration aimed at strengthening training and capacity development for Commission officials.
This follows a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Lagos Business School, led by Victor Banjo, to the PSC, where discussions centred on enhancing institutional capacity through structured training programmes.
Banjo said the engagement was designed to foster synergy between both institutions, particularly in building the competencies of PSC personnel.
He commended the leadership of the Commission under Chairman Hashimu Salihu Argungu for improving the Commission’s credibility and restoring confidence in its operations, especially the ongoing recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force.
He also lauded the Commission’s commitment to ethical standards and sustainability, expressing confidence that the recruitment process would yield candidates that reflect these principles.
In his response, PSC Chairman Argungu welcomed the proposed partnership, noting that collaboration with the Lagos Business School would enhance the professional development of Commission staff.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that only qualified Nigerians are recruited into the police force, stressing that the current recruitment exercise aligns with global best practices.
Argungu added that adherence to proper procedures remains critical to achieving quality outcomes in the recruitment process.
The statement was issued by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs at the PSC, on April 30, 2026.
