Tinubu Approves Cabinet Reshuffle, Edun, Dangiwa Exit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, resulting in the exit of two ministers, including his long-time ally, Wale Edun.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by George Akume, which disclosed that Edun and Ahmed Musa Dangiwa will step down from the Federal Executive Council.

Edun, who served as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, has been directed to hand over to Taiwo Oyedele, who now takes over the role after previously serving as Minister of State in the ministry.

In the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been named ministerial nominee, while Dangiwa is expected to hand over to the Minister of State pending confirmation of the new appointee.

The statement indicated that all handover processes must be concluded by April 23, 2026.
Akume said the reshuffle is aimed at strengthening cohesion and synergy in governance, as well as improving economic performance under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted that the President acted within his constitutional powers.

President Tinubu also commended the outgoing ministers for their service and wished them well in their future endeavours, assuring that efforts to enhance governance will continue.
