Abuja chorister ifunanya nwangene dies after cobra bite in her room

Fast-rising Abuja-based chorister, Ifunanya Nwangene, popularly known as Nanya_music or the Soprano Queen, has died at the age of 25 following a snake bite incident in her residence.
The young singer reportedly passed away on Saturday, January 31, after being bitten by a cobra inside her room. According to claims circulating online, she was rushed to a hospital shortly after the incident, but friends allege that her condition deteriorated due to the unavailability of an appropriate antivenom.
Videos shared on social media show a snake catcher displaying a cobra said to have been killed in the late singer’s room, as voices in the background suggest there could have been additional snakes in the apartment. Friends also recalled that the singer had earlier complained of seeing a large snake in her home.
While some unverified reports on Facebook claim that two snakes were eventually discovered in the house, members of the Abuja choral and music community have taken to social media to mourn her passing. Many described her death as tragic and suspicious, while others paid tribute to her exceptional vocal talent, noting that she was a gifted soprano with a promising future in music.
