Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has been declared the winner of the 2026 governorship election, securing a second term after defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, by 66,252 votes.

Adeleke, who contested the election under the platform of the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji recorded 444,815 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Adeleke as the winner following the completion of the collation of results from the 30 local government areas of the state.

According to the commission, 985,079 votes were declared valid, while 20,721 ballots were rejected.

The victory gives Adeleke another four years in office, four years after he defeated the then-incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola, in the 2022 governorship election.

The 2026 poll followed weeks of intense campaigns, with Adeleke seeking to retain his position amid strong competition from the APC and other political parties.

The election was also characterised by security concerns, with isolated reports of violence and disruptions recorded in some areas during voting and the collation process.

With the official declaration by INEC, Adeleke is set to continue as governor of Osun State for another four-year term.
