Business Leaders, Innovators Gather in Abuja for Convergence Africa Summit

Top business executives, innovators and policy drivers from across Africa have converged on Abuja for the Convergence Africa Summit sponsored by CEOs Portal Summit, with discussions centered on the future of strategic economic industries and the growing importance of transgenerational value creation.

The summit, themed “Transgenerational Connection: The New Legacy Asset – Brand, Data and Reputation,” examined how African businesses can build sustainable institutions through strong brand identity, data ownership and reputation management.

Participants drawn from sectors including information technology, finance, fashion, real estate and legal services stressed the need for African enterprises to move beyond short-term profit models and focus on building organisations capable of surviving economic uncertainties, leadership transitions and global market shifts.

Speaking at the event, the Convener, Patience Olusuyi, said the initiative was designed to create ecosystems where industries can exchange ideas, lessons and resources to drive long-term impact across generations.

She also encouraged participants to prioritise collaboration and strategic decision-making that would create enduring value beyond the conference.

Keynote speaker, Dr. Niyi Adesanya, highlighted the growing influence of digital transformation on African businesses, warning that issues surrounding artificial intelligence, data protection and consumer trust are emerging as major risks across the continent.

According to him, companies must deliberately invest in innovation, credibility and succession planning to remain competitive and relevant for future generations.

Discussions at the summit also focused on how African businesses can transition from short-term profit-driven ventures into resilient institutions capable of withstanding global market volatility and sustaining long-term growth.
