ECOWAS Honours Departing Staff from Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger


The Economic Community of West African Svtates Commission has paid tribute to staff members from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger whose contracts ended on April 15, 2026.


The recognition ceremony, held at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, brought together top officials including the President of the Commission, Omar Alieu Touray, alongside senior management and directors.


Speaking at the event, officials highlighted the vital role staff play in delivering the Commission’s mandate, commending the professionalism and dedication of the departing personnel from the three countries.


The ceremony, which combined appreciation with reflection, celebrated the contributions of the staff, noting their commitment to advancing regional integration, peace and development across West Africa.


The Commission reaffirmed its recognition of their service, describing their contributions as significant to the organisation’s mission in the region.
