A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to 75 years imprisonment over fraud linked to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
Delivering judgment, Justice James Omotosho convicted Mamman on a 12-count charge and ordered that the prison terms run consecutively, bringing the total sentence to 75 years.
The former minister was sentenced in absentia, with the court directing that the jail term should commence from the day he is arrested.
Justice Omotosho also ordered all security agencies to apprehend the convict wherever he is found.
The court further ruled that all monies and properties recovered from Mamman be forfeited to the Federal Government. He was also directed to refund the outstanding balance from the alleged N22 billion linked to the hydroelectric power projects.
