The Federal Capital Territory Controller of Corrections, Christopher Peter Jen, has been honoured with the Exceptional Leadership and Global Peace Ambassadorial Award by CIPA International.
The award was presented during a ceremony held on March 26, 2026, in recognition of his leadership within the Nigerian Correctional Service, as well as his contributions to peacebuilding and youth development.
As part of the recognition, Jen was also conferred with the title of Global Peace Ambassador, in line with the ideals of the United Nations Global Peace Convention.
Executive Director of CIPA International, Joseph David, praised the Controller’s impact, describing him as a symbol of transformation and stability in the communities he serves.
In his response, Jen expressed gratitude for the honour, dedicating it to inmates and vulnerable members of society. He noted that the award would further motivate his efforts, particularly in expanding initiatives aimed at supporting disadvantaged groups.
The recognition highlights the increasing role of correctional leadership in promoting rehabilitation, peace, and community development in line with the mandate of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
