The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has recorded major successes in operations against vandals, economic saboteurs, and drug offenders across Abuja.
Recent attacks on public infrastructure—including power lines, internet cables, and drainage covers—have disrupted electricity, internet services, and public safety in parts of the FCT and neighboring states. In response, police intensified intelligence-led patrols and surveillance in hotspots such as Mabushi, Maitama, and the Central Business District.
The operation led to the seizure of 296 underground power cables worth ₦31.1 million, 171 drainage covers, 4 portable cable pullers, 2 transformers, and 52 bags of suspected cannabis. Several suspects have been arrested, with investigations ongoing to identify collaborators and buyers.
The FCT Police urged residents to report suspicious activities via emergency lines 08032003913, 08028940883, 07057337653, or the Complaint Response Unit at 08107314192, reiterating their commitment to protecting lives and property.
