The Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Monday commenced activities for the 2026 National Police Day celebration with a sanitation exercise and free medical outreach in Area 1, Abuja.
The programme, led by the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammad, featured environmental clean-up efforts and the provision of healthcare services to residents, particularly vulnerable members of the community.
According to the Command, the initiative reflects the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening ties with the public through community engagement, improved
public health and environmental sustainability.
Residents who benefited from the exercise praised the Command for promoting a cleaner environment and making healthcare services more accessible.
The FCT Police Command said it would continue to pursue people-centred policing and community partnership as activities marking the 2026 National Police Day celebration continue.
