The arrests followed a robbery incident on 18 January 2026 in Jikwoyi, where the suspects broke into a residence, stealing cash, personal belongings, and a Toyota Corolla (KUJ 549 CW). Acting on intelligence, the Command’s Scorpion Squad traced the suspects to a hideout in Nasarawa State, where they were reportedly planning another heist in Asokoro.
The arrested suspects include Mohammed Yanusa (21), Abubakar Mohammed (20), Isah Salihu (18), Nura Zakare (20), John Paul Itodo (62), Augustin Daudu (30), Musbau Ali (32), Innocent Omale (44), and Usman Mohammed (22).
Recovered items comprise four televisions, multiple laptops, generators, solar batteries, a DJ mixer, speakers, wines, a GOtv decoder, and three vehicles – a grey Toyota Camry (MUS 234 CW), an ash-coloured Toyota Corolla (KUJ 549 CW), and an ash-coloured Toyota Camry (MKD 372 AU). Investigations revealed that the gang sold stolen vehicles to buyers in Kaduna and Kano states for ₦550,000–₦650,000.
The police are expanding investigations to apprehend the buyers of the stolen vehicles. The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation. Residents are urged to report suspicious activities via the FCT Police emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883.
