Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has announced his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor made the declaration on Friday during a statewide broadcast, stating that the decision was taken in the overall developmental interest of the state.
Fintiri revealed that he defected alongside members of his cabinet and key officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa.
He joins Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, who recently moved to the ruling party.
According to Fintiri, the defection was motivated by the need to align Adamawa State more closely with the Federal Government in order to attract greater opportunities and fast-track development initiatives.
