FRIENDS PROTEST DETENTION OF INFLUENCER ‘CRACK’, ALLEGE RIGHTS ABUSE

Friends and associates of social media influencer, Justice Mark Chidiebere, popularly known as “Crack,” have staged a protest demanding his immediate release following his arrest by military authorities.

The influencer was reportedly detained after posting a TikTok video criticising the welfare of military personnel deployed to crisis zones. Sources say he was held in military custody for four days before being transferred to the Department of State Services on Saturday.

Protesters described the detention as unlawful, arguing that holding a civilian without due process contravenes constitutional provisions.

They called on the Attorney General of the Federation to intervene and halt any prosecution, insisting the case lacks legal merit.
They also maintained that his comments fall within the bounds of free expression and urged authorities to respect civil liberties.

Meanwhile, the influencer has been arraigned in court, but journalists were reportedly denied access to the courtroom during proceedings.
