The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.
The appointment positions CSP Iniedu as the head of the police communication department, saddling him with the responsibility of coordinating public information, managing institutional messaging and strengthening engagement between the force and citizens.
A native of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, CSP Iniedu is a career police officer with experience in strategic communication, intelligence management, operational policing, accountability and administration.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo and has received professional training in areas including investigative interviewing, crime scene management, human rights-based policing, strategic communication and intelligence analysis.
Before his appointment, Iniedu served as Head of the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, where he supervised public complaints management and promoted accountability and transparency within the force.
He had also served as Public Relations Officer at the Police College of Information Technology, alongside other operational and administrative roles across the country.
The police authorities said his appointment is expected to boost the Force’s communication strategy, improve public confidence and enhance transparency in police operations.
