IGP Disu, NIPSS DG Seek Stronger Collaboration on National Security


The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has met with the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Ayo Omotayo, to explore avenues for strategic collaboration.


The meeting, held Thursday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, brought together top officials including retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Leye Oyebade and Garba Malumfashi.


Discussions centered on strengthening institutional ties between the Nigeria Police Force and NIPSS, with a focus on national security, leadership development, capacity building, and policy support.


Speaking during the visit, Omotayo described NIPSS as Nigeria’s foremost policy think tank under the Presidency, emphasizing its role in driving strategic research, high-level dialogue, and policy formulation for national development.


In response, IGP Disu commended the initiative, stressing the importance of partnerships between security agencies and policy institutions in achieving national security goals. He reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing, ongoing reforms, and improved service delivery.


The police chief also assured of the Force’s readiness to collaborate with NIPSS on research, leadership development, and policy initiatives aimed at strengthening internal security and governance.


The Nigeria Police Force says it remains committed to building strong institutional partnerships to enhance safety and security across the country.
