IGP Orders Redeployment of Senior Police Officers, Appoints New Heads Across Commands


The Inspector-General of Police, Olutunji Disu, has approved the redeployment of several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) across key departments and formations of the Nigeria Police Force, in a move aimed at boosting operational efficiency nationwide.
The directive, issued via a “Most Immediate” wireless message from Force Headquarters in Abuja, detailed the reassignment of senior officers to strategic units and commands.
Under the new postings, AIG Ado Emmanuel has been deployed to the Department of Research and Planning, while AIG Joseph Eribo will oversee the Armament unit. AIG Miller G. Dantawaye has been assigned to Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development.
Also, AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo has been moved to the Accounts and Budget Department, while AIG Dahiru Mohammed takes charge of Zone 15 Command in Maiduguri. AIG Dankombo F. Morris has been posted to Zone 4 Command in Makurdi, and AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14 Command in Katsina.
In further redeployments, AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba has been assigned to Legal Services, while AIG Ahmed Musa will head Community Policing.
Notably, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has been appointed to lead Zone 2 Command in Lagos, a key formation overseeing police operations in Lagos and Ogun states.
Meanwhile, AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom has been posted to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos, while AIG Haruna Olufemi will head the Special Protection Unit at Force Headquarters.
The police high command directed all affected formations to update their records immediately, underscoring the urgency of the redeployment.
