IGP Orders Redeployment of Senior Police Officers Nationwide

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the redeployment of senior officers across key positions in the Nigeria Police Force to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
The reorganisation, according to the Force, is aimed at strengthening leadership capacity and ensuring effective command structure through strategic postings across commands, formations, and departments.
Several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police were assigned to departments at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, while others were deployed to zonal commands in cities including Maiduguri, Makurdi, Katsina, and Lagos.
In a similar move, multiple Commissioners of Police were posted to various state commands such as Jigawa, Oyo, Delta, Ogun, Ekiti, Adamawa, Lagos, Taraba, Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto, as well as specialised units including INTERPOL, FCID, and community policing departments.
The postings also covered key administrative, investigative, and operational units within the Force, including training institutions and special units.
The IGP urged the affected officers to apply their experience in their new roles and maintain professionalism, discipline, and commitment to duty.
The directive was conveyed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid.
