NCCSC inaugurates 100 Officers For it’s Leadership program

The Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC) in Gwagwalada on Thursday, 5 February 2026, formally inaugurated 100 officers for its leadership programmes, comprising 50 participants for Senior Course 14 and 50 for Junior Course 24. The initiative aims to strengthen officers’ leadership skills and operational effectiveness.
Held at Ahmad Makarfi Hall, the Senior Course will run for six months, while the Junior Course spans three months. Speaking on behalf of Comptroller-General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi, Deputy Comptroller-General Sulaiman Chiroma described the inauguration as a milestone in advancing strategic leadership within the Service. He noted that successful participation in such courses is increasingly essential for career progression.
Chiroma urged officers to uphold integrity, professionalism, and accountability, applying the knowledge gained to meet the demands of modern Customs administration. “The College equips middle-level managers to navigate complex security and economic environments and align with the new national revenue framework,” he said.
Commandant of NCCSC, Assistant Comptroller-General Dow Gaura, highlighted the College’s role in leadership development, emphasizing discipline, commitment, and academic excellence. He reassured participants of mentorship support and encouraged engagement in sports and recreational activities for overall well-being, while warning against plagiarism and examination malpractice. The courses were formally declared open, with Gaura expressing confidence that participants would emerge as capable leaders ready to drive institutional and national objectives.
