NDLEA arrests China-bound businessman with 95 cocaine wraps at Kano airport

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 62-year-old Lagos-based businessman, Nwabueze Nicholas Izueke, at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport for ingesting 95 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.589kg.
The suspect was intercepted on January 31 while attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight to China via Addis Ababa. A body scan confirmed he had swallowed the illicit substance, and he later expelled the pellets during observation.
In separate operations, NDLEA seized 627.7kg of skunk from a warehouse in Kubwa, FCT, and foiled attempts to smuggle methamphetamine concealed in MP3 speakers from Enugu to Abuja and Kaduna, leading to multiple arrests.
In Taraba, officers intercepted 1.8kg of meth hidden in yogurt packs, while in Oyo, several suspects were arrested with skunk, tramadol, and other drugs. A suspected synthetic cannabis factory in Ibadan was also raided, with a kingpin and accomplice arrested.
Additional seizures were recorded in Kwara, Imo, Ondo, Lagos, and Enugu states, as NDLEA continued its nationwide drug enforcement and sensitisation campaigns.
