The Federal Government has expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions and reported attacks involving the Houthi militia in Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, urging all parties to exercise maximum restraint and embrace dialogue.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria called for an immediate de-escalation of hostilities, warning that further violence could endanger civilian lives and threaten regional peace and stability.
The government stressed the need for all parties to resolve their differences through diplomacy and peaceful means in line with the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law.
According to the ministry, any further escalation of the conflict could undermine security and stability across the region.
Nigeria also reaffirmed its commitment to the peaceful resolution of disputes and expressed its readiness to support genuine and constructive efforts aimed at reducing tensions, restoring calm, and promoting lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
