The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, OON, has extended warm congratulations to His Excellency Mohamed Ali Nafti, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of Tunisia’s Independence Anniversary.
The milestone commemorates Tunisia’s attainment of independence in 1956 and underscores the country’s enduring commitment to sovereignty, national development, and democratic progress. Nigeria recognizes the significance of this historic day and celebrates the resilience and achievements of the Tunisian people.
Over the years, Nigeria and Tunisia have enjoyed cordial and mutually beneficial relations, founded on shared values of respect, African solidarity, and constructive engagement. The two nations collaborate actively in bilateral and multilateral forums, including the African Union and the United Nations, promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development across Africa.
Nigeria also acknowledges Tunisia’s role in fostering regional stability, economic growth, and institutional development in North Africa. Both countries continue to strengthen ties in trade, investment, education, tourism, and cultural exchange, with opportunities for deeper economic and people-to-people cooperation.
