NPF Activates Cybercrime E-Reporting Portal, Urges Public Use

The Nigeria Police Force says its National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has fully activated its E-Reporting Portal to enable members of the public report cyber-related offences.

In a public announcement, the police said the platform allows victims and witnesses to lodge complaints on issues such as online fraud, identity theft, cyberstalking and other internet-based crimes.

The Inspector-General of Police encouraged Nigerians to utilise the portal, describing it as a secure and efficient channel that will support faster law enforcement response to cyber threats.

According to the statement, complaints can be submitted through the designated online portal, as part of efforts to strengthen digital security and improve public access to police services.

The Force reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding citizens in the digital space, urging prompt reporting of cybercrime incidents.
It also advised that cases of police misconduct should be reported to the Provost Marshal or the Complaint Response Unit (CRU).

The statement was signed by the Director of the NPF National Cybercrime Centre.
