NPF, PSC Begin Screening of Police Constable Applicants March 9 in Lagos

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Police Service Commission (PSC) will begin the physical and credential screening exercise for applicants seeking recruitment into the force as General Duty and Specialist Police Constables from Monday, March 9, 2026.
The Lagos State Police Command, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the exercise will run until Saturday, April 18, 2026, and will take place daily from 7:00 a.m. at the Police College, Ikeja.
According to the command, the screening is specifically for applicants who are indigenes of Lagos State and successfully completed the online registration for the 2025/2026 police recruitment exercise.
Applicants are required to appear in clean white T-shirts and white shorts and present specific documents arranged in two white flat files. The required documents include the invitation slip showing the assigned screening table, credential screening form, National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card issued by the National Identity Management Commission, O’ Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and certificate of local government or state of origin.
Candidates applying as specialists are also expected to present their trade test certificates, while all applicants must submit a duly completed and signed guarantors’ form with photocopies and passport photographs of their referees attached.
The police added that both original and duplicate copies of credentials must be neatly arranged in two separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached.
The command warned that any applicant who fails to present the required documents will not be allowed to participate in the screening exercise and urged candidates to strictly adhere to their scheduled dates and guidelines.
It also stressed that the recruitment screening is free of charge and will be conducted strictly on merit, urging members of the public to report anyone demanding payment or gratification in connection with the exercise.
