The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has condemned the recent attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives. He has ordered a massive deployment of police personnel and resources to restore calm and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
IGP Disu expressed condolences to the Plateau State Governor and the affected families, pledging swift and decisive action. He had earlier dispatched DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, to the state to assess the situation, coordinate ongoing security measures, and reinforce existing operations.
Additional tactical units, Police Mobile Force teams, and intelligence operatives have been deployed in collaboration with other security agencies to tackle security challenges and prevent further breakdowns of law and order. The public has been urged to remain calm, cooperate with security forces, avoid taking the law into their own hands, and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
