Police deploy tactical teams to Kwara over deadly Kaiama attack

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate deployment of tactical, operational and intelligence assets to Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State following a deadly attack that left 75 people dead.
In a statement on Thursday, the Nigeria Police Force condemned the February 3 violence and expressed condolences to the families of the victims, as well as the government and people of the state.
The police chief assured that efforts were underway to restore calm and prevent further attacks, adding that a manhunt had been launched for those responsible. He said investigations had commenced and all available resources were being mobilised to ensure the perpetrators were arrested and prosecuted.
The police urged residents to remain calm and provide credible information to support security operations.
