Police, EFCC Rescue 14 Abducted Victims from Calabar–Oron Waterways

The Nigeria Police Force, in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has rescued fourteen victims abducted by sea pirates along the Calabar–Oron waterways.

The operation, carried out through coordinated intelligence-driven efforts, targeted criminal elements operating within the maritime corridor. Acting on credible intelligence, joint security operatives intensified surveillance and launched tactical operations across identified hotspots, leading to the safe rescue of all victims without harm.

Authorities say the victims are currently undergoing medical evaluation and debriefing, after which they will be reunited with their families.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the joint team for the successful operation, describing it as a clear demonstration of effective inter-agency collaboration and intelligence-led policing.
The police further assured the public that efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend those responsible for the abduction and bring them to justice.
