The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a series of operational successes across several states in the past 24 hours, including the foiling of bandit attacks, arrest of suspected criminals, recovery of firearms, and rescue of victims.
In Sokoto State, joint security operatives repelled a bandit attack after a gun battle, recovering five magazines loaded with 40 rounds of live ammunition. Confidence-building patrols and bush-combing operations are ongoing.
Similarly, in Katsina State, security operatives successfully repelled a large-scale bandit attack, forcing the attackers to retreat with heavy casualties while security has been reinforced in the affected communities.
In Plateau State, police and PMF personnel repelled armed attackers and restored calm, with reinforcements deployed as efforts continue to apprehend fleeing suspects.
Enugu State recorded multiple breakthroughs as police arrested five suspected cultists and recovered a pump-action gun with three live cartridges. Officers also recovered a locally fabricated pistol following a suspect’s confession.
In Bauchi State, a combined team of police, vigilantes and local hunters foiled a kidnapping attempt, neutralising one suspected kidnapper and recovering three empty AK-47 shells.
Ogun State police arrested two suspected cattle rustlers, recovering six stolen cows and an abandoned vehicle. In a separate operation, officers arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a stolen motorcycle.
In Ebonyi State, police arrested a murder suspect and restored normalcy following a violent mob attack, while investigations continue.
Police in Kano State arrested a suspect over alleged child trafficking and rescued three female children.
In Lagos State, patrol officers arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a locally fabricated pistol, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend fleeing accomplices.
In Ondo State, two suspected kidnappers and armed robbers were arrested. Police recovered a stolen Lexus RX350, a firearm, a stolen mobile phone and other exhibits.
Meanwhile, in Akwa Ibom State, four suspected criminals were arrested based on credible intelligence, with a locally made pistol recovered. Efforts are underway to arrest another suspect who escaped.
The Nigeria Police Force said investigations are ongoing in all the cases handled by the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments (SCIDs).
