The Delta State Police Command has intensified security operations along key waterways in Asaba as part of efforts to curb kidnapping, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities.
Police operatives from the Marine Units of Delta and Anambra State Commands, supported by the Buffalo Team and led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, carried out a coordinated patrol along strategic waterways spanning the Second Niger Bridge axis to the Asaba Grand Hotel area.
The operation, described as proactive, is aimed at addressing emerging security threats and ensuring the safety of residents and commuters within the state. Officers involved were equipped with life jackets in line with safety protocols and professional standards.
Authorities confirmed that the patrol exercise was completed successfully without any incidents.
The Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging the public to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to support ongoing security efforts.
