The demonstrators, who gathered at the ministry’s premises, condemned what they described as the unlawful detention of the influencer following his arrest by military authorities.

Chidiebere was reportedly taken into custody after posting a video on TikTok in which he criticised the welfare conditions of military personnel deployed to crisis zones. According to sources, he remained in military custody for four days before being transferred to the Department of State Services (DSS) on Saturday.

The protesters argued that holding a civilian for several days without due process violates constitutional provisions and undermines the rule of law.

They called on the Attorney General of the Federation to urgently intervene, grant the influencer bail, and halt any planned prosecution, insisting that the case lacks legal merit.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to issue an official response to the protest or the demands raised by the demonstrators.
