The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening corporate governance and leadership standards following a courtesy visit by the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD) Nigeria.
PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (Rtd), received a delegation from the CIoD led by its Second Vice President, Alhaji Lamis S. Dikko, at the Solomon Arase Conference Hall, PSC Headquarters in Abuja.
Discussions during the meeting centred on enhancing institutional collaboration, promoting transparency and accountability, and advancing joint initiatives in governance advocacy and capacity building.
Argungu noted that the CIoD’s mandate aligns with the Commission’s drive to transition from traditional civil service practices to modern corporate governance frameworks.
He also expressed readiness to strengthen collaboration, particularly in equipping both executive and non-executive members of the Commission with relevant skills for improved performance.
He assured the delegation of the PSC’s commitment to sustaining a productive partnership with the institute.
The statement was issued by the PSC Spokesman, Torty Njoku Kalu, on April 28, 2026.
