The Rivers State Police Command has ordered an immediate investigation into allegations of misconduct involving a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) following a publication making rounds on various online platforms.
The Command, in a statement, said the officer concerned has been removed from his position pending the conclusion of a thorough and impartial probe into the allegations.
The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, expressed concern over the development, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and professionalism.
Adepoju said the Command would not tolerate any form of misconduct, abuse of office, or actions capable of undermining public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
He assured members of the public that the investigation would be conducted diligently and without bias, stressing that the Command remains committed to upholding discipline, integrity, and effective service delivery.
The Rivers State Police Command also appreciated the vigilance of citizens and encouraged members of the public to continue reporting cases of misconduct through appropriate channels.
