Supreme Court Fixes Accelerated Hearing in Turaki-led PDP Leadership Appeal

The Supreme Court has ordered an expedited hearing in the appeal filed by the Kabiru Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the party’s leadership dispute and the annulment of its national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.
A five-member panel of the apex court, presided over by Justice Auwal Garba, granted the request for urgent hearing following an application moved by the faction’s counsel, Chris Uche.
Counsel to the respondents, Emmanuel Okala, did not oppose the application but sought additional time to file his responses.
Ruling on the matter, the court shortened the time allowed for filings and directed all parties to submit their written addresses within five days.
The Supreme Court subsequently adjourned the case to April 22 for a substantive hearing.
