Under Secretary Allison Hooker Embarks on Multi-Nation Diplomatic Tour

U.S. Under Secretary of State Allison Hooker will visit Nigeria, Oman, Bahrain and Italy from January 21 to 29 as part of a diplomatic tour to advance key U.S. priorities. In Abuja, she will lead the U.S. delegation to the U.S.-Nigeria Joint Working Group, focusing on protecting Christian communities, counterterrorism cooperation and expanding U.S. investment. In Muscat and Manama, Hooker will chair separate strategic dialogues to strengthen security, economic and cultural ties. In Rome, she will discuss global issues including the Russia-Ukraine war, Venezuela and Middle East peace, and meet UN agencies to review U.S.-funded assistance and agricultural trade opportunities.
