WAPP Holds 20th General Assembly in Lomé, Welcomes Four New Members



Lomé, Togo – The West African Power Pool (WAPP) convened its 20th General Assembly on Saturday, 24 January 2026, at the Hôtel 2 Février in Lomé, bringing together senior officials from member energy companies.
The opening ceremony featured addresses by Mr. Débo-K’mba Barandao, Director General of CEET; Mr. Abdoulaye Dia, Secretary General of WAPP; Eng. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Executive Board; and a message from Togo’s Minister of Mines and Energy Resources, Mr. Robert Koffi Messan Eklo, delivered by Dr. Eng. Tchapo A. Singo, Director General of Energy.
The Assembly reviewed and approved key documents, including the report of the 19th session in Abidjan (November 2024), the external auditor’s 2024 financial report, the Secretary General’s 2025 activity report, and recommendations from the 66th Executive Council meeting. The session also officially welcomed four new member countries into WAPP.
